February 23 - Spey Casting Clinic Don’t miss the first ever NFA Spey Casting Clinic. Members will be gathering at the Snoqualmie River near Carnation for a few hours of professional Spey rod casting instructions on Saturday. The cost is $5 per person. Coffee and pastries will be served.
March 28-30 - Olympic Peninsula Outing This outing is very popular because of all the famous peninsula steelhead streams that are available from our deluxe indoors accommodations in Forks. A weekend’s food and lodging is around $70; a bargain for a chance to catch some big steelhead.
April Outing There is not yet an outing scheduled for April. Matt would like your input. Some ideas include fishing Pass Lake or Lone Lake on a Sunday; spending the weekend fishing Lenice and Nunnally lakes; or what about a weekend at Washington’s only spring creek, Rocky Ford?
Lower Yakima River Outing May 17 - 18 This is the third year for this bass fishing outing on the Lower Yakima. We will both float and wade fish. Lots of smallmouth are caught. Weekend food is provided. Outings fee: $25. Camping: $20.
Deschutes River Float Trip June 19 - 22 This is the first time this outing is being done. There is room for only 16 people. We will float the northwest’s best trout stream from Mack’s Canyon to the mouth. All food will be provided. Food costs are about $60. Licensing and float fees: about $50.
Leech Lake Outing July 12 - 13 Leech is a fly fishing only lake located in the White Pass area on Mount Rainier. Everyone caught fish last year. Floating devices are necessary. All weekend food is provided. Outing fee: $25. Camping fee: $14.
Naches River Mentoring Outing August 23 - 24 If you want to share your skills or learn from others, this is the outing for you. The Naches is a wonderful river to learn the basics. Camping is right next to the river. All weekend food is provided. Outing fee: $25. Camping fee: $10.
Montana Outing September 30 - 31 The Johnson’s invite members to camp on their property in Superior, right on the Clark Fork River. Members float and wade for large rainbows and cutthroats. All weekend food is provided (Maura cooks some of the best grub of any outing). Outing fee: $25.
Yakima River Outing October 18 - 19 October is one of the best months to fish our blue ribbon trout stream. The rainbows are filling up on October caddis and the dry fly fishing can be spectacular. All weekend food is provided. Outing fee: $25. Camping fee about: $20.
