NFA Rod Building Classes Those taking the class will actually build a fiberglass or graphite fly rod from a blank and components (cork grip, reel seat, guides, etc.). Kim Kreidler is the instructor again this year, and he will help those who sign up with the purchase of their blanks and components so that construction can begin at the very first class meeting. Class size is low so each student can finish building his or her rod by the end of the class. Kim will provide all of the necessary tools needed to construct a rod. Dates and Cost This five-session class will be held from 7 to 9 PM on consecutive Tuesdays beginning January 26th. The class is open to club members and the general public. The class costs $30. Call Kim at (206) 362-2041 or Tim Schindele at (206) 367-1723 to make a reservation; class size is limited. Place Ingraham High School, 1819 N 135th St. in the Haller Lake neighborhood at the corner of Meridian Ave. N and N 135th St. We’ll be in the staff lounge. Come in the main entrance by the flag pole, turn to the right and look for the door on the left side of the hallway.
NFA Beginning Fly Tying Classes Have you ever wanted to tie your own flies but thought it was too complicated to learn? Well, think again. Fly tying is quite simple once you develop the basic skills and techniques. And you will be able to tie flies for a fraction of what it costs to buy them. The approach taken in the class is to learn how to tie the actual flies you will use to catch fish. We start with easy flies and work up to more complex flies. All tools and materials are provided; just bring your enthusiasm. Dates and Cost This five-session class will be held from 7 to 9 PM on consecutive Tuesdays beginning March 2nd. The class is open to club members and the general public. The class costs $30.
